The beautiful holiday village of San Martino ( St. Martin) lies at 597 metres above sea level and is situated in the sunny lowlands, surrounded by fields and forests, it is only 20 minutes away from Merano by car.

The pretty old village centre is formed by a few houses with Middle Age character, surrounding the church. The Gothic parish church of San Martino that was turned into a Baroque church in the 18th century is really worth a visit. The land mark of San Martino is the shield farm Steinhaus.

The areas around San Martino are ideal for easy and long excursions with little differences in height. More difficult hiking trails go up to refuges and the famous natural park Gruppo del Tessa. Along with the walking paths and cycle tracks along the river Passirio, an 18-hole golf course, a modern swimming pool and tennis courts the village offers many sporting activities.

The Hirzer cable car departs in Saltusio (Saltaus) and brings you to a magnificent hiking area.
The waterfall in the Valclava valley offers a cool place for recreation in the summer and when frozen over in winter ice climbers use it to practice.
