The holiday village San Giovanni (St. Johann im Ahrntal) is situated 1.018 m above sea level in the sunny lowlands of the valley surrounded by meadows and forests. You can discover the surroundings on various paths or trails, for example to the beautiful Frankenbach waterfall. The mountain pasture Schwarzbachalm is a hiking paradise with a high wire adventure park and a special animation programme for children.

In winter a free shuttle service takes skiers up to the ski resort Monte Spicco (Skigebiet Speikboden) or Monte Chiusetta (Klausberg im Ahrntal) in a few minutes. The illuminated tobogganing/sledging run close to the village can also be used at night.

The parish church St. Johann has magnificent frescos and ceiling paintings, it is an excellent Tyrolean example for the late-Baroque era.
The mineral museum is also worth visiting, it has a great collection of minerals from the area of the Zillertaler Alps and the Hohen Tauern. It exhibits the world nicest rock crystal and the biggest cairngorms of South Tyrol.
The memorial of the Oberkofler brothers is also interesting, one brother was a famous poet and a talented painter from the Valle Aurina valley.
