The beautiful holiday village Nova Ponente (Deutschnofen) lies at 1.350 m above sea level, on a sunny slight slope in the centre of a high surface with hills. It is surrounded by the impressive massifs Sciliar, Rosengarten and Latemar. A few mountain farm houses are scattered in the area and small churches give the landscape a picturesque accent.

In the late-Baroque parish church you can find four old wooden relieves in the high altar, they are parts of the first big wing altar in South Tyrol, once made by Hans von Judenburg for the dome church of Bolzano. The wing alter was donated to the church in Nova Ponente and was then sold in single parts in various cities of Europe, like Cologne, Munich, Zagreb, etc.
An interesting village museum with sacral art is housed in the castle Thurn. To the east of Nova Ponente stands the Romanesque church St. Helena with unique frescos of the famous school of Bolzano.

Nova Ponente and also offers a great variety of recreational activities, easy walkshiking trails or cycle tracks enable you to discover the surroundings. In winter, free shuttle busses connect Nova Ponente with the Ski Center Latemar-Obereggen, they run several times a day.
