The holiday village Campo di Trens (Freienfeld) is situated in the upper Val Isarco valley at 962 m above sea level, where the wide green basin of Vipiteno opens up.

Its central position favours excursion to the close surroundings and to places further away, but also the village itself is a popular destination and is suitable for easy walks and hikes with low differences in altitude.

The path from Trens to Valgenäum is very nice to walk alonge, here we find a picturesque small church on a hill.
Castle Sprechenstein is enthroned on the same side of the valley. In the 16^th century it was transformed into a fortified castle.

The famous late-Baroque pilgrimage church Maria Trens is worth a visit, the interior of the church is in Rococo style and the ceiling paintings are from Joseph Adam Mölk.

Every year believers from the whole of Tyrol & South Tyrol come to visit  the church.
