The picturesque village Burgusio (Burgeis) is situated on a sunny position at 1.216 metres above sea level at the foot of the meadow plateau "Malser Haide" which is very characteristic for the valley.

Its little alleys and the nice village fountain gives the impression of it being an idyllic town.The village is characterized by farms of the 16^th and 17^th century with beautiful wood panelled living rooms.

The Benedictine convent Monte Maria is enthroned above the village, it is the highest Benedictine abbey in the world and can be visited in a guided tour. The Princes’ Castle of the prince bishops of Coira now houses an agricultural school.

In summer the "Malser Haide", the melancholic meadow plateau with irrigation canals, offers a great view onto the surrounding mountain peaks.

Skiers love the sunny and modern ski resort Watles that can be reached from Burgusio by car in a few minutes. It has lovely slopes for skiers and snowboarders and a great tobogganing / sledging run for the whole family.
